Have been dedicating some time into researching 19th century Russian artists, as I try to gain inspiration for the VERRIER Fall/Winter 2011 collection designs. In my customary feminine aesthetic worked with a hint of masculinity, a list has evolved referencing pearls, lace, feathers, patterned jacquards, crystal brooches and military regalia. With these materials, it is fitting that I would derive design influence from such great artists as Vladimir Makovsky and Dmitry Levitzky. These masters have inspired me to take a pen to my sketchbook (above), as I think about what VERRIER styles might make women feel beautiful for the fall and winter seasons of next year.
Below are details from various Russian painters ~ hope you find these exquisite renderings as inspiring as I do!
