Cornwall’s Side of Paradise

If you favor festivals, fashion and most of all creative thinking with celestial ring, then destination PORT ELIOT FESTIVAL (Cornwall, UK) come end of July is your Raison d’être!

Port Eliot is not your usual festival, nor does it position on common ground. Famously described as ‘Glastonbury with less focus on the music’, Port Eliot is indeed a magical land, complete with castle. Slight exaggeration owned, as the venue is actually a stately home with castle-like presence!

However; you are invited to  wonder about royally and might just find yourself drawn into the drama of a seance, the rhythm of an outdoor disco, the visual drench of an art installation or the olfactory lure of a Michelin chosen restaurant. And this is just the drum roll for the official courtly line-up that will find you starstruck.

This ninth year at the Port Eliot Festival offers a player’s cast that is outstanding in its quality and diversity; covering music, art, comedy, literature and of course fashion! Case in point; the festival operations has appointed international style journalist and British Fashion Council Ambassador for Emerging Talent, Sarah Mower, as their first fashion curator ruling an area of the ancient Port Eliot grounds known as The Wardrobe Department.

Showcased in the walled garden next to a 19th century orangery, the Wardrobe Department gives people a rare opportunity to meet a remarkable group of fashion and designer talents. This year’s roster includes Meadham Kirchhoff, Louise Gray, Stephen Jones, Mary Katrantzou, Luella Bartley and Anna Sui, along with a host of others for this well fashioned visit to Cornwall’s side of Paradise.
